Some of the biggest names in music congregated together Tuesday night in Los Angeles at the Staples Center to celebrate the American Music Awards 2018. Tracee Ellis was designated as the host a second time around ,and you can expect she touched on a variety of subjects, throwing shade at and cracking jokes about some of the most newsworthy moments of this past year.
The 3 hour show featured some incredible performances by Twenty One Pilots, Jennifer Lopez, and Post Malone, but Mariah Carey stole the show with her true diva moment during her set. She appeared on stage covered in feathers and a pink cloud-like construction around her, identifying herself as Venus singing “With You”. Taylor Swift was by far one of the most talked about artists after and during the AMAs. She has recently opened up about her political views after her tour ended and used the award show as another platform to voice her opinions. It was in fact quite a night for Swift as she took home Artist of the Year Award, breaking Whitney Houston’s streak of most wins by a female artist.
The night was not complete, however, without the iconic Cardi B keeping it real about being a new mom in the industry. While accepting her award for Best Hip Hop Artist she let all her haters know she was doing great balancing her life with a little hard work and help from her support team. It was quite a night to remember and the fashion was all over the board. There was good, there was bad, but we will let you be the judge of these celebrity red carpet styles below.
