Just like her role as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex in The City, Sarah Jessica Parker is not one to shy away from experimenting with bold trends. She recently opened up about her campaign with Intimissimi which featured some of the brand’s more intimate pieces. Parker hit the streets of New York styled in lingerie inspired tops and pants. The pajama trend has been in and out of seasons for decades, but recently has exploded again in Italy and the United States.
Parker thoroughly embraced the photoshoot and loved the pieces; however, being a mother now she would be slightly more conservative. “I wouldn’t necessarily dress how Carrie Bradshaw would, but it was fun to be bold in this campaign,” she said, “especially on those streets because I do walk my kids to school on those streets, and I don’t typically wear pajamas slightly open when I’m walking my children to school, so it was kind of fun.” Intimissimi’s products are nothing short of bold colors and exquisite materials on an affordable budget.
The concept of feeling empowered to wear your lingerie in public is something to be inspired by. To many, the choice of style evokes courage and confidence in oneself. Instead of hiding behind a structured dress molded to your body, the loosely draped pants and pajama tops are comfortable and leaving much room for personality. Parker described just that, “I think this campaign is about feeling confident telling somebody who you are and encouraging others and remembering yourself not to judge people. You can call it empowerment in that message or you can call it a call to arms in confidence in some way, so I think that’s hopefully the connection. That’s what I took from it.”
