With the CMA Music Festival hitting TV’s nationwide on NBC, we take a second look back on some of the highlights. From pop to country, Bebe Rexha was one of the newest members to the Nashville scene in June. Florida Georgia Line and the pop star performed their hit “Meant to Be”, and Bebe had on one quite elaborate accessory. She flaunted a custom made, diamond encrusted cowboy hat.
“I really wanted a hat full of crystals. It was very expensive, but I said it was worth it,” she gushes in an interview with The Boot. The hat was made of 6,000 Swarovski crystals and designed by Dolly Parton’s hat maker. “My grandmother listened to Dolly Parton growing up. Dolly was her favorite artist, so I felt like it was cool to have a good luck hat.” Thankfully the hat never fell off her head and managed to give quite the performance alongside country sensation Florida Georgia Line.
Rexha has been taking it all in over the past few months as “Meant To Be” stays consistently in Billboard’s top 100. She even even confessed her surprise towards how accepting the country fans are. Being a popstar she admitted, “It’s terrible to say, but I think in the pop world, you feel a little bit more like a product. If I gain a little bit of weight or I take a bad picture or something, in the pop world, it’s like, ‘Why aren’t you perfect?’ In the country world, there’s such a sense of acceptance. It’s about the art, and that’s really nice, because I don’t feel like I’m being judged on [a superficial] level.”
“With country fans, it feels more accepting and loving, and that kind of makes me want to move to Nashville,” she adds.
