Halloween is the only time of the year where you can go all out using the makeup you already have. On this scary day, nobody will judge you because your face is looking a bit creepy. On the contrary: the scarier, the better. That means it’s the ideal moment to transform yourself, right? Although it’s possible you will encounter one little problem: how do you make yourself look like a scary creature? Preferably without looking like a kid who just got some new crayons. No worries: we’ll take you through some easy steps we’ve learned from Evi. If you follow them carefully, you’ll look as scary as Pennywise from the movie IT, but in a feminine classy way (fancy nails included)! Ready? Let’s go!
Scary Pennywise IT-look
First of all, what do you need to transform yourself into the most creepy clown in town? These products of Make Up Forever are perfect for this Halloween look. You will definitely need latex, natural colored wax and fake blood. Tissues and your daily makeup products will also come in handy. And a bit of excitement of course!
Step 1 : Put on an old T-shirt
You never know what will happen when you get too excited using the fake blood, so be careful and don’t wear your brand new clothes when recreating this look.
Step 2 : Hydration!
Fully hydrate your face and the other parts of your body that you’d like to cover. In this tutorial, your face and neck will be having some fake wounds.
Step 3 : The latex
Put the latex in an empty cup in order for the ammoniak of this product to vanish. Go on by placing the texture on your skin by using a sponge. Apply multiple layers of latex and allow every layer to dry. To make it all a bit more realistic, you can tear up a tissue into pieces and insert those pieces in every layer of latex you apply. Once a layer of latex becomes transparent, you can apply a new one. Go crazy! Want to make it look like a real wound? Go on and cut into the latex-wound.
Step 4: Foundation
Once your ‘wounds’ are ready, it’s time to apply a full coverage foundation to make your skin color a bit lighter. If you have a foundation you use when your skin is at its palest, use that one! The paler you look, the more scary the result will be.
Step 5: Eyeshadow
The black color of the Urban Decay palette is perfect to create this kind of smokey eyes. Don’t hold back during this step. Make it as expressive as you like. There is no such thing as ‘too much’ eye shadow for this look.
Step 6: Fixing Powder
Put on a fixing powder in order for this Pennywise look to last all night long.
Step 7 : Bloody mess
Time to add a bit of blood! A dark red lipstick is used to fill the ‘wounds’ you made earlier on. Can you already see this look coming together?
Step 8: Pennywise is here…
What is a Pennywise look without the red stripes on your face? Use a fine brush to draw the IT stripes. You can use the same red color to put on your lips, to add a feminine touch. Make sure you really focus on the cupid’s bow, so you can recreate those striking lips Pennywise has!
Step 9: A second red color
Use another red lipstick (preferably a darker one!) to go over the bloodlines and to make the lips look even more red.
Step 10: Is this fake or real blood?!
Now it’s time to get really messy with the fake blood. Apply the fluid on your fake wounds and don’t be afraid to let some drops run onto your face: it doesn’t have to be very neat. Also apply some of the blood on the corners of your mouth. Yummy!
Step 11: We’re almost there!
Put on your black mascara to open up your beautiful eyes and last but not least: make your hair look very messy. Enjoy your scary Pennywise-look!
I just want to create a cool, scary wound!
Are you interested in making a scary wound on your body? We are! It’s really not that difficult to make. Imagine scaring your friends by showing them your freshly made wound… You’ll be the creep of the party! (which is a good thing on Halloween of course) What do you need for this tutorial? A bit of plastowax, your daily moisturiser, a knife, an ear stick and a red lipstick or fake blood.
Step 1: Hydrate!
Again, make sure you hydrate your skin to make it feel very smooth. It’s the best way to apply makeup!
Step 2: Plastowax fun
Heat the plastowax in the microwave. Wait until it has cooled down a bit and put the plastowax on a body part of choice to create this wound. Go crazy and repeat this step as many times as you like.
Step 3: Cutting…
Take your knife and start cutting into you fake wound so you can apply the fake blood later on. But don’t be too enthusiast! Remember, no real wounds please! To make the wound more obvious, you can take an ear stick to work with more detail.
Step 4: Blood blood bloooood
Just like you did when creating a wound on your face, you need to color your wound with some red lipstick. And of course, you can apply fake blood as well! Don’t go too easy on the fake blood, it’s supposed to cover up the entire wound and the area around it. We want it to look as real and as scary as possible! Watch the pictures below and recreate your creepy wound. Good luck!
